Hall Equities Group is pleased to announce the completion and opening of Geary Marketplace, a highly-anticipated redevelopment of what had been the single most-blighted property in recent Walnut Creek, CA, history. The previous use of the site was a 30,000 square foot “Co-Op” neighborhood market, constructed in 1958. As of 2011, however, the structure had been shuttered and boarded up for 33 years. Several investors had attempted to work with the prior owner to redevelop this urban infill site over the years, but without success.

Hall Equities Group finally succeeded in acquiring the property in 2009 and went about a lengthy design effort, internal feasibility studies and tenant marketing. What resulted from these efforts was Geary Marketplace, a 35,000 SF, high-quality grocery-anchored neighborhood shopping center (average daily vehicle trips: approximately 19,000). The anchor tenant is Sprouts Farmers Market – a western regional grocer specializing in smaller format urban stores, offering healthy, natural and organic groceries. Other tenants include Habit Burger, Freebird Burritos, Subway Sandwiches, Super-Cuts and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.
